PCR Plates

PCR plates have wells that hold volumes of the sample in a PCR machine. A typical PCR plate is usually made of many different materials which are molded together and is used for both conventional PCR as well as qPCR. The wells are thin and uniform to ensure the delivery of maximum and consistent heat. The number of wells may vary (from 24, 96 to 384). The plates may be colored (blue, green, purple, red, yellow etc) or clear. White plates are uniformly colored with titanium dioxide (TiO2) and are ideal for qPCR as they reduce variability in fluorescence detection. The deck of the plates may be skirted (ideal for automated cycler with robotic handling), semi-skirted or not skirted (compatible with most thermal cyclers). They can be labeled with a marker on the sides and some versions are Barcoded for identification purposes. These plates are sealable and can be sealed with Adhesive films and Foils, Heat Seals etc.
