Agarose Gel Electrophoresis is a technique which is used for the analysis of DNA or RNA by allowing the fragments of nucleic acids to migrate in a gel made of agarose under the influence of an electrophoresis. For loading the nucleic acids into the gel, a special loading buffer is used. Gel loading buffers have two main functions to provide density to the DNA so that it does not rise out of the well and to provide a means to track the progression of the gel. The 6X Orange gel loading buffer from Genei has a special type of dye kwon as Orange G. This dye has a faster migration rate as compared to the usual bromophenol blue dye. It migrates at a rate corresponding to linear ds DNA of 50 bp length. This product from Genei is given in a 6X concentrated form. The user must dilute it to a working concentration of 1 X before use.
