Acriflavin neutral by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is high grade reagent. Acriflavine is a commonly used dye. It is available as an orange or brown coloured powder which is soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol, however nearly insoluble in ether, chloroform or fixed oils. This dye compound is derived from acridine, and can be stored at room temperature. Acriflavin Neutral acts as an intercalating dye, and is less irritating to the skin than its hydrochloride form.

Acriflavin neutral has a wide range of applications in various sectors. This dye is widely used in biochemistry for fluorescently labelling high molecular weight RNA. It has been reported to inhibit mitochondriogenesis, and is also an antiseptic. In animal models, acriflavine has been demonstrated to inhibit HIF-1, which prevents blood vessels growing to supply tumors with blood and it also interferes with glucose uptake and use. It is suspected that it will be effective in fighting common cold virus, and also aid the fight against the increasingly antibiotic resistant bacteria. This reagent is suitable for the synthesis of various compounds in industrial processes and it can also be used in research applications.
