Acrylonitrile by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This is an organic compound which is made of a vinyl group linked to a nitrile. It is available as a colourless liquid which is soluble in water. It has a melting point of 84 C and a boiling point of 77 C. Acrylonitrile is synthesized by the catalytic ammoxidation of propylene, also known as the SOHIO process. It decomposes in the atmosphere by reacting with oxygen and hydroxyl radical to form formyl cyanide and formaldehyde.

Acrylonitrile has a wide range of applications in biological and chemical industries. This compound is majorly used as a monomer to prepare polyacrylonitrile, a homopolymer, or other several significant copolymers, such as styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), and other synthetic rubbers such as acrylonitrile butadiene (NBR). It is also sparingly used as a fumigant. Additionally, Acrylonitrile is also a precursor in the industrial manufacture of important compounds, acrylamide and acrylic acid. This reagent is ideal for the synthesis of various compound in industrial processes, and is furthermore widely used in research applications.
