ADA buffer has a wide range of applications in biological and chemical industries. This buffer has been utilized in protein-free media for chicken embryo fibroblasts, as a chelating agent for H+, Ca2+, and Mg2+, and further for the isoelectric focusing in immobilized pH gradients. The effects of this buffer on dog kidney Na+/K+-ATPase and rat brain GABA receptors have also been studied. This buffer however, modifies the colouration in bicinchoninic acid assays.
