Aluminium sulphate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This compound is the octadecahydrate salt of ammonium sulphate and is commonly found in nature. The reagent is available as a crystalline white solid which is soluble in water, and slightly soluble in alcohol, dilute mineral acids. Aluminium sulphate can be prepared by the addition of aluminium hydroxide to sulphuric acid. It is alternatively prepared by heating aluminium metal in a solution of sulphuric acid.

Analytical grade reagent Aluminium sulphate has a wide range of applications in chemical and biological industries. It is commonly known as alum, a coagulating agent used in the purification of drinking water. It is also employed as a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles. In gardening applications, aluminium sulphate is sometimes added to reduce the pH of garden soil, since it hydrolyses to form the aluminium hydroxide precipitate and a dilute sulphuric acid solution. It is also used as an efficient molluscicide, to eliminate the threat of Spanish slugs. Furthermore, it acts as a waterproofing agent and accelerator in concrete, and a foaming agent which is incorporated in firefighting foam.
