Aluminon by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This compound is also known as aurin tricarboxylic acid triammonium salt. The reagent is available as yellow-brown crystals which are freely soluble in water and turn red in aqueous solution. Aluminon can be prepared by the reaction of sodium nitrite with salicylic acid, while adding formaldehyde, and then treating with ammonia.

Aluminon has a wide range of applications in chemical and biological industries. This compound is used in qualitative inorganic analysis, of the presence of the aluminium ions in an aqueous solution. However, it is widely used in pigment production. Aluminon produces brilliantly coloured lake pigments with aluminium, chromium, iron, and beryllium. Furthermore, Aurintricarboxylic acid inhibits apoptosis in many cell types. It is additionally a potent inhibitor of ribonuclease and topoisomerase II by preventing the binding of the nucleic acid to the enzyme. These reagents are suitable for industrial and research applications.
