Amberlite IRA 400 has a wide range of applications in chemical and biological industries. This ion-exchange matrix is suitable as a separation medium for TLC, paper chromatography and LPLC. Its strongly acidic cation exchange property makes it efficient in de-calcification. It may be used in applications for the recovery of toxic metals. Generally, such ion-exchange resins are used in the softening of water, replacing the magnesium and calcium ions found in hard water with sodium ions. It may also be used in de-ionization, removal of amino acids, the manufacture of sugar and pharmaceuticals, and purification of juice. These reagents are suitable for industrial and research applications.
