Amikacin Disc are used for antimicrobial susceptibilty test of bacteria using Bauer-Kirby Method. Generally Mueller Hinton Agar (M173/M1084) medium is used for suceptibility test. the susceptibility test is determined on the basis of zone of inhibition. Te cultural response canbe obeserver after incubating the standard culture at 35-37C for 18 hrs.

Storage and shelf life:It is advised to store the discs always at -20C to +8CC after opening. The disc loses its stability at higher temperature (45C).
