Bathophenanthroline by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline, this compound is derived from phenanthroline. This reagent is available as a white to pale yellow powder which is soluble in organic solvents. It has a melting point of 218- 222 C. While this reagent is stable under general conditions it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. CAS No.: 1662-01-7 Quantity Provided: 100 mg per bottle Molecular formula: C24H16N2 Molecular weight: 332.41 Assay: Minimum 99 % Analytical grade reagentBathophenanthroline has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent is a highly selective colorimetric reagent for Fe(II) detection. Bathophenanthroline is commonly employed for the determination of iron in serum and urine, and for the determination of iron(II), (III) and for the determination of total iron. It has also been used in an ultra-sensitive and selective non-extractive quench-fluorimetric method, in order to determine palladium (II) at g/l Levels. Bathophenanthroline also finds applications in buffer layers to improve the performance of organic photovoltaic cells. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
