Benzidine sulphate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as 4,4'-Diaminobiphenyl sulphate, this organic compound is derived from Benzidine, an aromatic amine. This reagent is available as a powder which is slightly soluble in water. While this reagent is stable under general conditions, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Benzidine is usually prepared in a two-step process from nitrobenzene. CAS No.: 21136-70-9 Quantity Provided: 5 gm per bottle Molecular formula: C12H12N2.H2SO4 Molecular weight: 282.32 Assay: minimum 98 %Benzidine sulphate has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent is extensively used as a precursor in organic synthesis to generate various compounds. Derivatives of Benzidine are used in the production of dyes. This compound reacts with 1-aminonaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid to produce the Congo red dye. Benzidine is also incorporated as a component of a test for cyanide. It is used to produce 3,3'-Dichlorobenzidine, o-tolidine, o-dianisidine etc. Benzidine can furthermore be used in studies on its mechanisms of genotoxicity. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
