Berlin blue by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as Prussian blue, this is a dark blue pigment. The reagent is available as a blue powder which is insoluble in water, but tends to form colloids. While it is stable in general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. It has been administered for people who have ingested thallium or radioactive caesium. Pathologists commonly use Berlin blue as a histopathology stain to detect the presence of iron in biopsy specimens. It is also utilized in analytical chemistry as a Prussian blue assay for total phenols. In engineering applications, it is employed for spotting metal surfaces such as surface plates and bearings for hand scraping. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
