Bradys reagent by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as 2,4-Dinitrophenylhydrazine, this reagent is a substituted hydrazine. The reagent is available as a red to orange solid which is slightly soluble in water. It has a melting point of 198 to 202 C. Bradys reagent can be generated by the reaction of hydrazine sulphate with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Quantity Provided: 125 ml per bottle Liquid density: 1.06Bradys reagent has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent solution is a compound fixative used in histology staining. Bradys reagent is employed to qualitatively test for carbonyl groups associated with aldehydes and ketones. It however, does not react with other carbonyl-containing functional groups such as carboxylic acids, amides, and esters. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
