D.P.X Mountant is a product by Micromaster. It is used in laboratories for histological studies. Chemically, it is a mixture of distyrene, which is a polystyrene, tricresyl phosphate, which is a plastisizer and xylene. D.P.X Mountant acts as a synthetic mounting-resin. It possesses the advantage that it preserves stains used in histology. It is also easier to handle as it dries very quickly. The Mountant is also compatible with hematoxylin-eosin stain and Masson-Goldner stain. Excess mountain can also be very easily removed by peeling.
