Electrotransfer Mini Dual System is an electroblotting device from Genei. Western blotting is an analytical technique to detect the levels of expression of desired proteins in a given sample. The proteins of interest are run on an SDS PAGE gel and then the proteins are transferred from the gel to a membrane with the help of electroblotting. In this technique, the proteins contained in the gel are sandwiched between membranes (such as PVDF of Nitrocellulose). An electric field is applied and the negatively charged proteins migrate to the positive electrode and in the process, get transferred onto the membrane, where it becomes available for further analysis.
