Molybdenum is a high-grade compound supplied by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries. Molybdenum is a metallic element with the atomic symbol Mo, atomic number 42, and atomic weight 95.95. It is an essential trace element, being a component of enzymes like xanthine oxidase, aldehyde oxidase, and nitrate reductase. It is available in the form of foil with a boiling point of 4.612C. It is stable if stored as per the recommended conditions suitable for this metal. If exposed to excessive heat or flame it can generate hazardous decomposition products like nitrogen oxides and hydrogen fluorides. It is advised to store this reagent in a tightly sealed container, in cool dry conditions as water can react with certain metals to produce hydrogen, often accompanied by violent reaction. It is incompatible with strong oxidising agents. CAS No. 7439-98-7 Quantity provided: 100 gm/bottle Molecular formula: Mo Molecular weight: 95.94g/mol Assay: Minimum 99.9%Molybdenum is one of the five major refractory metals. Refractory metals are metals with very high resistance to heat, wear and tear. Since molybdenum can withstand extreme temperatures without significantly expanding or softening, it is useful in applications involving intense heat, including military armours, aircraft parts, electrical contacts, industrial motors, and filaments. Molybdenum is widely used to make alloys. Molybdenum powder can be used as a fertilizer for some plants, like cauliflower. Molybdenum-containing enzymes are widespread, mostly in bacteria. Some enzymes include aldehyde oxidase, sulfite oxidase and xanthine oxidase.
