Murashige & Skoog (Van der Salm Modification) Microelements (100X), is supplied by HiMedia. It is available in the form of a white to off-white, homogenous, free flowing powder with a pH in the range of 5.8 to 6.8. Since this product is extremely hygroscopic, it is advisable to store it at 2-8C, in air tight containers. The composition (mg/ml) is as follows:

Murashige and Skoog Medium (MS) was originally formulated by Murashige and Skoog in 1962 to optimize tobacco callus bioassay system for facilitating the study of cytokinins. It is commonly used for micro propagation, organ culture, callus culture and suspension culture. Murashige & Skoog (Van der Salm Modification) microelements (100X) powder has been specially formulated for plant cell, tissue and organ cultures. The powder contains inorganic microelements and iron source. The vial contains 7.97 grams of dehydrated microelements that is sufficient for making 100 litres of complete medium.
