VacTube blood collection tubes are intended to be used for blood collection and specimen management. VacTubes are used together with Needles and Device Holders as a system for the collection of venous blood.Tubes are used to transport and process blood for testing serum, plasma or whole blood in the clinical laborator .In the early days, glass tubes were the only option for blood collection, but ever since the introduction of plastic (PET) blood collection tubes 7 decades back, it had clinically proven equivalent or even better compared to glass tubes. VacTube offers vacuum and non-vacuum blood collection tubes, made up of high grade plastic material, manufcatured as per ISO and NCCLS Standard Specifications. Evacuated (vacuum) tubes are made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) plastic material & Non-Vacuum blood collection tubes are made from PP (Polypropylene) plastic. Use of anticoagulants prevents blood from coagulating or clotting. The blood collection vacuum tubes have been designed for a certain amount of blood to be drawn into the tube by vacuum according to the amount of pre-filled anticoagulant in the tube. VacTubes are available in different sizes, with different range of sample drawing volumes, coupled with vivid range of additives, to meet the desired needs of modern day clinical laboratory. Each tube is provided with different colour cap for its easy identification.
