Pristinomycin -SD178-5VL contains 5 X 100 discs in vial. Each filter paper disc of SD178-5VL is of 6 mm diameter with printed "RP 15" on centre of each side of the disc. Each Pristinomycin -SD178-5VL disc is saturated with 15mcg Pristinomycin RP (Quinupristin/Dalfopristin).

Pristinomycin RP (Quinupristin/Dalfopristin) discs are used for antimicrobial susceptibilty test of bacteria using Bauer-Kirby Method. Generally Mueller Hinton Agar (M173/M1084) medium is used for susceptibility test.The susceptibility test is determined on the basis of zone of inhibition. The cultural response can be obeserved after incubating the standard culture at 35-37C for 18 hrs.

Storage and shelf life:It is advised to store the discs always at -20C to +8C after opening. The disc loses its stability at higher temperature (45C).
