Saturated Phenol (Tris HCL) is a laboratory grade chemical used in molecular biology experiments as well in chemistry experiments for its wide properties. The phenol is saturated with water. The saturated phenol is present in liquid phase. Saturated Phenol is often used in the extraction of nucleic acids and proteins. It has a unique ability to denature protein while leaving the nucleic acids soluble, thus allowing rapid nucleic acid extraction. Phenol should be stored at 4-degree Celsius for long term use. Care should be taken while handling it as it is highly corrosive and can cause severe burns.
