The 3.2% Citrate vacuum tubes are supplied by the leading manufacturers and distributors of the field, Chargen Life Sciences. These 1.8 ml 3.2% Citrate vacuum tubes are perfect for coagulation studies and PT/PTT tests. The additive present is Buffered Sodium Citrate. It is present in a 1:9 citrate to blood ratio. These citrate tubes with 3.2% buffered sodium citrate solution are used for routine coagulation studies. Sodium citrate has been use as an additive here because it is an effective anti-coagulant. It is used by blood banks and clinical laboratories. The ration of sodium citrate to blood is often 1:9. The mechanism of action here includes the citrate ions chelating the calcium ions present in the blood leading to formation of calcium citrate complexes. This leads to disruption of the entire blood clotting mechanism, allowing the blood to be carried and stored easily.
These are premium grade tubes that ensure no interference due to dead tube space. They are made from high quality and durable PET material and carry all the necessary quality certificates. The 1.8 ml tube is 13 x 75 mm in size and is sterile as well as disposable. These tubes come with a blue coloured rubber top which is made from medical grade soft rubber. These tubes can be centrifuged at 1300 rmp and should be stored in a temperature up to 37 degrees Celsius. These citrate tubes have a shelf life of up to 24 months.
