Sodium polyanethol sulfonate is a high-grade reagent supplied by Micromaster. It is available in the form of a solid powder. It is stable if stored according to the recommended conditions. If exposed to excessive heat or in case of burning, it can generate hazardous decomposition products like hydrogen sulphide and carbon oxides. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Sodium polyanethol sulfonate must not be stored in direct sunlight or in extreme temperature conditions. It may cause skin, eye and respiratory irritation (if inhaled).

SPS prevents the killing of bacteria by innate cellular and humoral factors.
