Spectinomycin-SD181-5VL is referred as Spectinomycin SPT 100mcg discs under Hi Media catalogue. Each pack of Spectinomycin-SD181-5VL contains 5 X 100 discs in vial. Spectinomycin discs are used for antimicrobial susceptibility test of Neisseria gonorhoeae using Bauer-Kirby Method. Generally Mueller Hinton Agar (M173/M1084) medium is used for susceptibility test. The susceptibility test is determined on the basis of zone of inhibition. The cultural response can be observed after incubating the standard culture at 35-37C for 18 hrs.

Storage and shelf life: It is advised to store the discs always at -20C to +8C after opening. The disc loses its stability at higher temperature (45C).
