TaqNovaHS DNA Polymerase, 500 U supplied by BLIRT is a mixture of thermostable Taq DNA polymerase isolated from Thermus aquaticus and a highly specific monoclonal antibody, which acts as an inhibitor of the polymerization activity. It facilitates easy set-up of a hot-start PCR reaction at room temperature. The antibody reversibly binds to the enzyme which leads to the inhibition of polymerase activity at ambient temperatures and subsequently prevents extension of non-specifically annealed primers and primer-dimers formed at low temperatures during PCR setup. Then during normal cycling conditions the antibody is released from the polymerase. No additional incubation step is necessary to activate the enzyme while using the TaqNovaHS Polymerase. It is ideal for several applications, which require profoundly specific amplification. It can work in different PCR conditions quickly and efficiently. The enzyme catalyses DNA synthesis in a 5 3 direction, shows no 3 5 exonuclease activity, but has a 5 3 exonuclease activity.
