Tetracycline-SD133-5VL is referred as Tetracycline TE 10mcg disc under Hi Media catalogue. Each pack of Tetracycline-SD133-5VL contains 5 X 100 discs in vial. Each filter paper disc of Tetracycline-SD133-5VL is of 6mm diameter with printed "TE 10" on centre of each side of the disc. Each Tetracycline-SD133-5VL disc is saturated with 10 mcg Tetracycline.

Tetracycline discs are used for antimicrobial susceptibilty test of bacteria using Bauer-Kirby Method. Generally Mueller Hinton Agar (M173/M1084) medium is used for susceptibility test.The susceptibility test is determined on the basis of zone of inhibition. The cultural response can be obeserved after incubating the standard culture at 35-37C for 18 hrs.

Storage and shelf life: It is advised to store the discs always at -20C to +8C after opening. The disc loses its stability at higher temperature (45C).
