Transport Swabs W/ Amines Medium (A) is supplied by TM media.Transport Medium is a unique system used for collecting and transferring specimen samples in a suspended form. A recommended amount of 1.0 ml of Amies Medium A is suitable for the collection and transportation of aerobic, anaerobic, and fastidious organisms obtained from wounds, skin, and throat. The medium is packaged in a tube with a screw cap made of polypropylene that has a built-in mechanism to capture the swab. The PW1321 swab is provided in a sterile peel-open pouch and has a yellow colour with a standard flocked tip and a regular shaft with a red scored break point. The molded breakpoint allows the swab to be broken in the tube and captured in the vial that contains the transport medium.
