Transport Swabs W/ Amines Medium (B) is supplied by TM media. It is recommended to use 1.0 ml of Amies Medium B for the collection and transportation of aerobic, anaerobic, and fastidious organisms from wounds, skin, and throat, as well as for MRSA screening. The medium is provided in a polypropylene tube with a built-in swab capture mechanism. There are two types of swabs, PW1321 and PW1322, both of which are provided in sterile peel-open pouches. PW1321 is a yellow-coloured standard flocked tip swab with a regular shaft and a red-scored break point, while PW1322 is a blue-coloured standard flocked tip swab with a narrow shaft and a red-scored break point. The molded breakpoint in the swab allows it to be broken in the tube and captured in the vial containing the transport medium.
