Water Testing

Water Testing

Water testing solutions are provided for testing the quality of certain sources of water like drinking water, waste water, marine industry, pool and spa. Due to increase in water pollution due to accumulation of industrial wastes, the amount of clean and high-quality water is diminishing. Hence, we need to test the quality of water to ensure it is safe for the skin (as in the case of pools) or it is potable for drinking. There are a wide range of test kits available which are ideal for quality assessments such as tablet reagents, various test strips, phenol tests, dip slide tests, photometers, electronic meters and comparators.

Phenol tests are a relatively quick tests which give a reliable estimate about the number of phenolic compounds present in a water sample. Chlorine tests are widely used in pools, where an excess amount of chlorine may cause skin irritation or other symptoms. Checking the presence of ammonia and nitrates is also an important test one must conduct, before claiming the water to be safe and potable. An extensive number of tests are available to gauge the presence of heavy metals like copper, zinc, lead, mercury, molybdenum, chromium, nickel and manganese. A dip slide test is used to measure the microbial activity in a water sample. Photometers are basically digital colorimeters, which can be used to detect the presence of certain compounds, like chlorine in a sample.

A variety of the water testing products such as photometers, comparators, conductivity meters, tablet reagents and dip slide incubators, and accessories required for performing the BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) tests can be purchased from the BioMall website.
