GeNei RNA Gel Electrophoresis Kit, 10 gels of 50ml is a product from Genei. Just like agarose gel electrophoresis for DNA, laboratories commonly use denaturing gels for visualizing RNA. Typically, denaturing gels contain a buffer made of MOPS and formaldehyde. Denaturing gels are used for RNA to ensure better stability of RNA and prevent loss of fragments. The denaturing effect of the gel prevents the formation of folded structures, which may have an inhibitory effect in downstream procedures. In these gels, the primary denaturing agent is formaldehyde. Formaldehyde also prevents the RNA degrading activity of RNases. Denaturing gels are used for preparation of RnA for Northern Blots, which are used for identification of specific RNA sequences. The GeNei RNA Gel Electrophoresis Kit, 10 gels of 50ml provides all the necessary chemical required for preparing denaturing gels. The kit has the following components:
