HiFi Dental Pulp Stem Cells (HDP-SC) are supplied by HiMedia. These are isolated from human dental pulp collected subsequent to the tooth extraction procedure. These are either supplied as proliferating cells or cryopreserved cells. The proliferating cells are supplied in a T-25 culture flask whereas Passage 2 cells are supplied frozen, with density of not less than 0.5 x 106 cells per vial. These mesenchymal cells are from a single donor and they undergo growth kinetic studies, stem cell marker analysis and functional analysis of multilineage differentiation. The cells are maintained in antibiotic free conditions prior to supply. HDP-SC can be sub-cultured at a seeding density of 5000-10,000 cells/cm2. Proliferating cells are supplied in a T-25 closed (non-vented cap) flask at room temperature, where the flasks are filled to capacity with transport medium and the neck is sealed with parafilm. Each flask is individually packed in a plastic bag to contain any possible leakage. It is advisable to follow the suitable protocol along with proper handling and storage of these cells, for accurate results. This Biosafety level II product is intended for research use only and is not suitable for animal, human therapeutic or diagnostic use.

Quantity provided: 0.5 million cells/vial/EA

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are a well-characterized population of adult stem cells which have the potential to develop into mature cells producing fat, cartilage, bone, tendons, and muscle. These properties, along with their developmental plasticity, have led to the potential use of MSC in regenerative medicine as a replacement for damaged tissues. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are having a MSCs phenotype and are differentiated into neuron, cardiomyocytes, chondrocytes, osteoblasts, liver cells and cells of islet of pancreas. Thus, DPSCs have great potential to be used in regenerative medicine for treatment of various human diseases including dental problems. These cells can also be developed into induced pluripotent stem cells by incorporation of pluripotency markers and use for regenerative therapies of various diseases.
