Acetyl salicylic acid by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is high grade reagent. Better known as Aspirin, this drug is an acetyl derivative of salicylic acid. The reagent is available as a white crystalline powder which is soluble in water. It has a melting point of 136 C, and a boiling point of 140 C. Acetyl salicylic acid is synthesised by reacting salicylic acid with acetic anhydride. This compound may decompose by hydrolysis in moist conditions, yielding salicylic and acetic acids.

Acetyl salicylic acid has a wide range of applications in various sectors. This medication is widely used to treat pain, fever, or inflammation. It is administered shortly after a heart attack, to decrease the risk of death. Aspirin may also slightly reduce the risk of endometrial, breast, and prostate cancer. It blocks the production of prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (prostaglandin H synthase), with greater selectivity toward the COX-1 isoform. Additionally, aspirin is a first-line treatment for the fever and joint-pain symptoms of acute rheumatic fever. This reagent is suitable for the synthesis of various compounds in industrial processes and it can also be used in research applications.
