Aniline by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This is a prototypical aromatic amine, containing a phenyl group attached to an amino group. The reagent is available as a colourless to yellow liquid which is slightly soluble in water. It has a melting point at 6.3 C, and a boiling point at 184.13 C. Industrial synthesis of aniline involves the nitration of benzene with nitric acid and sulphuric acid, followed by the hydrogenation of the resulting nitrobenzene. CAS No.: 62-53-3 Quantity Provided: 500 ml per bottle Molecular formula: C6H5.NH2 Molecular weight: 93.13 Assay: minimum 99 % Liquid density: 1.022Aniline has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. It is primarily utilized in the preparation of methylene dianiline and related compounds by condensation with formaldehyde. It is also incorporated in rubber processing chemicals (9%), herbicides (2%), and dyes and pigments (2%). Aniline is required for the synthesis of organic intermediates such as 3-chloro-N-phenyl-pyridin-2-amine, (Z)-methyl 3-(phenylamino)but-2-enoate, 2-iodo-N-phenylbenzamide, 2,4-dichloroquinoline and N-(2-propynyl)aniline. It is employed in the dye industry as a precursor to indigo, the blue colour of blue jeans. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
