It Is widely used in chemical analysis for the titrimetric and gravimetric determination of potassium. Likewise, ammonium, rubidium, cesium and thallium ions can also be determined. Also alkaloids with NaPh4 can be determined quantitatively. It can be very useful in the inorganic separation step to distinguish ammonium and potassium ions.
