The medium contains skin milk powder along with peptic digest of animal tissue and yeast extract that provide all the necessary nutrients mainly nitrogenous for the growth, development and metabolism of P.aeruoginosa in water. The compund sodium chloride is used to maintain the osmotic balance of the medium.
