MOPSO buffer is a high-grade reagent supplied by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries. Other chemical names used for this reagent include, 3-Morpholino-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic acid and -Hydroxy-4-morpholinepropanesulfonic acid. It is available in the form of white crystalline powder. MOPSO buffer is slightly soluble in water (6 g/l at 20C). It is stable as long it is stored as per the recommended storage conditions. MOPSO is even used in discontinuous gel electrophoresis on rehydratable polyacrylamide gels, in buffered charcoal yeast extract agar, for fixing cells in urine in a buffered alcohol and for testing crude oil bioremediation products in marine environments.
