Vitamin E acetate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, this is an ester of acetic acid and tocopherol. The reagent is available as a powder which is insoluble in water. It has a melting point of -28 C. The phenolic hydroxyl group of tocopheryl acetate is blocked, which provides a less acidic product with a longer shelf life. While this reagent is stable under general conditions, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, hence must be stored carefully.

Vitamin E acetate has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent finds wide applications in the organic synthesis of various derivatives. Vitamin E acetate is majorly incorporated in dermatological products including skin creams. This compound is not oxidized and can penetrate through the skin into living cells, where approximately 5% is converted to free tocopherol and provides beneficial antioxidant effects. Vitamin E acetate has been used to study the effect of the addition of an antioxidant or vitamin E in the diet of rats with dextran sulphate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
