G-418-DISULPHATE (Geneticin Sulphate) is supplied by TM MEDIA. G418 disulfate salt is an aminoglycoside antibiotic similar in structure to gentamicin used for the selection and maintenance of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells transfected with an iNOS promoter construct and neomycin resistance gene.Geneticin is widely used for the selection of eukaryotic cells, stably transfected with neomycin resistance genes (neo) as well as maintenance of the (neor) phenotype of resistant cells.blocks polypeptide synthesis by inhibiting protein elongation by binding irreversibility to 80S ribosomes both in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
