Gamma GT kit is a product from Biogenix Inc. Pvt. ltd. Gamma GT, or gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase or gamma-glutamyl transferase, is a liver enzyme which is involved in the detoxification of toxins. Abnormal levels of the enzyme may be in indicators of liver or bile damage.

The test uses the ability of GGT to catalyse a transfer reaction of the glutamyl group from y-glutamyl-3-carboxy-p-nitroanilide to glycylglycine.

The amount of p-nitroaniline formed is measured and this is a direct indicator of the activity of GST in the sample.

Kinetic measurements at 400-420 nm are used.
