It is enveloped with light blue PUR-coating (polyurethane coating), that acts as a protective coat and facilitating optical distinction. In case of breakage, the glass fragments are contained by this protective coat. This volumetric flask comes with a Polypropylene stopper and satisfies the Class A standard of accuracy. It also contains the DE-M mark of conformity. The maximum temperature it can be exposed to is 135C (at dry heat for less than 30 minutes) and the maximum temperature to be maintained while autoclaving and cleaning are 121C and 95 C respectively. The frequent autoclaving at such high temperature, however, can lead to reduction in the splintering protection.
