Sterile Discs are supplied by Micromaster. These are sterile filter paper discs of 10 mm diameter. It is advisable to store these discs between 2-8C for maximum efficiency.

These discs can be used to test a variety of antibiotics, carbohydrates, substrates, antiseptics on bacteria in petri dishes. The procedure to use them is as described. Soak a disc in a solution or apply some solution on the discs. Then let dry and place it in an inoculated agar plate. Each disc will absorb exactly the same amount of liquid.
