20X SSPE Buffer, pH 7.4, is supplied by HiMedia. It is available in the form of a colourless solution. 20X SSPE is supplied as a concentrated prepared buffer for use in nucleic acid hybridizations and blot transfer applications. SSPE contains EDTA, which is a chelator of divalent metal ions, Mg2+, and in turn efficiently inhibits DNase activity that can decrease probe and target DNA concentrations during Southern hybridization. It is advisable to store this product room temperature (15-25C). It consists of 3.0 M Sodium chloride, 0.2 M Sodium phosphate and 0.02 M EDTA with the pH adjusted to 7.4.

20X SSPE Buffer, pH 7.4, is a concentrated solution of filtered and sterilized saline sodium phosphate EDTA. The supplied 20X solution has to be diluted with deionized water according to the requirement of applications. This buffer is widely used in Northern and Southern blotting experiments. It is used as the hybridization buffer as well as transfer buffer during capillary transfer. This buffer is also used in bacterial screening and hybridization procedure.
