AMYLOPECTINE is a product provided by Research-Lab Fine Chem Industries. Laboratory reagents are chemicals which are used in laboratories as a part of experimental procedures. These reagents can be important parts of chemical reactions, analytical reagents or starting material for the production of other materials.
This AMYLOPECTINE is of laboratory grade. This polysaccharide is a highly branched polymer of glucose. It is soluble in water. Found in plants, it is one of the two components of starch, where the other one is amylose. While starch is generally 70 % amylopectin by weight, this varies from source to source. Amylopectin is highly branched, where it is formed of 2,000 to 200,000 glucose units. The inner chains are formed of 20 - 24 glucose subunits. Amylopectin has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. Plants store starch inside specialized organelles called amyloplasts. The starch is hydrolysed when energy is required for cellular processes. As amylopectin differs in structure form from other plant species, it is used in the study of the development of starches. Waxy starches are used in various applications mainly as a thickening agent or stabilizer. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
