Antimony (III) acetate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as antimony triacetate, this is derived from Antimony, a chemical element found in nature mainly as the sulfide mineral, stibnite. This reagent is available as a white powder which is moderately soluble in water. It has a melting point of 128.5 C. Antimony triacetate can be generated by the reaction of antimony(III) oxide with acetic acid. CAS No.: 6923-52-0 Quantity Provided: 500 gm per bottle Molecular formula: (CH3CO2)3Sb Molecular weight: 298.89 Assay: minimum 97 %Antimony (III) acetate has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. Approximately 60% of antimony is consumed in flame retardants, and 20% is utilized in alloys for batteries, plain bearings, and solders. It is also used as a stabilizer and a catalyst for the production of polyethyleneterephthalate. Antimony compounds are used as antiprotozoan drugs, where antimony based treatments are referred to antimonials. Antimony (III) acetate is used as a catalyst in the production of polyesters. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
