It is used for the cultivation of mannitol-positive Azotobacter species from the soil.This medium contains necessary nutrients for the growth of the Azotobacter species. For the cultivation of mannitol-positive Azotobacter species from the soil, Azotobacter broth (Mannitol) can be used. It is used for the cultivation of mannitol-positive Azotobacter species from the soil. It can also be useful for the maintenance of Azotobacter species by adding an extra 1% Mannitol to the medium containing agar i.e solid media.
