Metronidazole is a high-grade reagent supplied by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries. Other chemical names for this reagent include, Flagyl, Anagiardil and Metronidazol. Metronidazole belongs to nitroimidazole family, which typically consist of a nitro group at position 5 on the imidazole ring. It is available in the form of white to yellowish coloured powder which has a bitter sweet taste. Metronidazole is hardly soluble in cold and hot water. It is usually stable, if stored as per the recommended conditions of storage. Metronidazole is incompatible with reactive oxidising agents.
