Phosphate Buffer, pH 7.2 is supplied by HiMedia. It is a sterile ready prepared media containing 9ml of clear coloured solution in bottles. Phosphate Buffer is generally used as a diluent as recommended by United States Pharmacopeia. It is advisable to store this ready prepared media between 2-8C. Composition (in gm/L) is as follows:

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (34.00)

Distilled water (500.00)

Phosphate buffer pH 7.2 is formulated as described in USP. The phosphate buffer is required for the antibiotic preparation used in antibiotic assay. It is used in preparation of dilutions.
