4-Aminobenzophenone has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. Benzophenone has various applications, and is generally used as a photosensitizer in photochemistry. Derivatives of this compound are known to be pharmacologically active. 4-Aminobenzophenone is associated with 4-benzoylpyridine and it is used as a frequency doubler for semiconductor lasers. It is also used in the preparation of 1-[4-[N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amino]phenyl]-1-phenylethylene, and as a precursor to prepare 1,2,3-triazoles, pyrimidotriazoles, benzothiazole and pyrimidinone derivatives. This compound is also involved in the formation of coordination complexes with chromium(III). This reagent is suitable for industrial and research applications.
