Ammonium ferrous sulphate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as Ammonium iron(II) sulphate, or Mohr's salt, this compound is a double salt of ferrous sulphate and ammonium sulphate. This reagent is available as a bluish green coloured powder which is soluble in water. It has a melting point of 100 to 110 C, and this product is the hexahydrate form of the salt. Mohr's salt can be prepared by dissolving a mixture of hydrated ferrous sulphate and ammonium sulphate in water with sulphuric acid, the resulting solution of which is then crystallized.
