Basic fuchsin solution by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This is a dye mixture of rosaniline, para-rosaniline, new fuchsine and Magenta II. The reagent is available as a dark green coloured powder which turns magenta in a solution of water. It has a melting point of 200 C. While it is stable under general conditions, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and must be stored carefully. CAS No.: 632-99-5 Quantity Provided: 125 ml per bottle Molecular formula: C20H20ClN3 Molecular weight: 337.85 Assay: Minimum 88 % 0.1 w/v solutionBarium fuchsin has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This dye finds wide applications in biological staining procedures. It is combined with phenol in solution as an accentuator, where it is referred to carbol fuchsin. This preparation is used in the ZiehlNeelsen staining and other similar acid-fast staining procedures for mycobacteria. It is additionally used to stain the nucleus, and is furthermore a component of Lactofuchsin, used for Lactofuchsin mounting. Basic fuchsin is combined with sulfurous acid to produce Feulgen reagent or Schiffs reagent. This mixture is used to stain chromosomal DNA. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
