The medium is primarily used for the cultivation of Neisseria along with the purpose of determining the susceptibility of the microorganisms to antibiotics. It is formulated for the sole isolation of the Neisseria species. This medium was highly recommended for testing the susceptibility of using a single disc of high concentration. It has somehow become the standard medium for antimicrobial susceptibility testing. It contains a certain amount of 25ml as sterile ready prepare media in 90mm disposable plates.
